Oh, how I've Missed the Night People!
Had a good time at [info]mckitterick and [info]kijjohnson's place on Saturday. It seems that when we all get together to watch movies while drinking vast amounts of liquor, we can have quite a party. (How're you feeling, anyway, [info]_mac_? ;) )

I think I particularly appreciated this party, because sometime around 3:30, everyone decided they were hungry -- so it was off to the grocery store to buy eggs. [info]arian1, [info]kijjohnson, and [info]bellanorth all contributed to the (excellent!) cooking, while the rest of us waited hungrily.

At some point, I took out the trash, and as I was coming back into the house, I had a very nice outside-in view of our group. And it struck me that it was 4:00 in the morning, and the entire house was active -- and weren't yet showing signs of stopping!

Being a night person myself, it brought a tear to my eye. While I don't mind getting up early to go out for breakfast, my natural tendency is just to stay up until it's light out, and then going to breakfast. But over the past 5 or 6 years, the friends we've hung out with have been morning people, and around midnight, the parties have usually come to an end. And after so long without people to enjoy the wee hours of morning with, it's good to be among the night people again. ;)

It was really 4:00am? I honestly had no idea we were still going at that time. No wonder I had such a hard time getting up for work today. I think I was up just as late/eary on Friday as well.

I love the icon! So very appropriate for this weekend too. Actually, he's off by an hour- breakfast was about three and we left at four.

Okay, for all you sticklers for detail: apparently we were cooking at 3:00, and done at 4:00.

Point's still the same -- we were still up and having fun in the wee hours of the morning! ;)

I can't help it if I'm wired for time, and I wasn't trying to be anything but helpful to the poor girl who was so drunk before breakfast (and after) that she wasn't driving home. So how could she know the time if she couldn't drive?

That's cool, that moment of frisson-ish recognition of seeing one's self from outside of one's self.

I, too, have really enjoyed meeting others who appreciate staying up late!

Chris
